200,000 signatures and counting. By Nicole Carpenter A petition for Blizzard to reopen World of Warcraft legacy server Nostalrius has garnered over 200,000 signatures. The pirate server was shuttered earlier in April after receiving a cease and desist from Blizzard Entertainment. Mark Kern—former World of Warcraft team lead—is now working on delivering the petition to Blizzard president Mike Morhaime. In a post to Twitlonger, he detailed his plan. First, Kern will print "all 5,000 pages" of the petition and write up an open letter to Morhaime, which he'll share with the community. Next, he'll shoot a video reading the open letter and upload it to the SodaPoppinTv YouTube channel. After the letter and video are made public on Friday, Kern will email everything to Morhaime, and follow up with a phone call on Monday. "Thank you for supporting this petition and for playing and loving vanilla and early WoW so damn much," Kern wrote. "You did this. You can make it happen. And I'll be right there alongside you."
