24: Legacy Ordered to Series by FOX

The network also gives green light to Star, featuring Queen Latifah.

The Jack Bauer-less continuation of the 24 franchise, 24: Legacy, has received a series order from FOX.

Originally ordered for just a pilot, FOX is now moving ahead with the spinoff. Straight Outta Compton and The Walking Dead's Corey Hawkins will star in the drama series, along with Homeland's Miranda Otto and Jimmy Smits.

24: Legacy will -- not shockingly -- chronicle a race to stop a terrorist attack from hitting the United States, and once again, the real-time format will be utilized for the show's episodes.

FOX also gave a series order to Star, a music-centric drama from Lee Daniels (Empire) and Tom Donaghy. It's about three singers trying to find success in the business and stars Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady, Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt.

Both shows will debut during the 2016-17 season on FOX.
