Batman v Superman Passes $500 Million Worldwide

A new milestone.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has already made over $500 million worldwide, Warner Bros. Pictures has announced.

According to a press release from the studio, Zack Snyder's superhero flick earned a whopping $501.9 million during its first five days in theaters. The current domestic box office total sits at just over $193.3 million, with an additional $308.6 million made internationally.

"We’re so proud that Batman v Superman has become the must-see event film of the season for fans the world over," studio exec Veronika Kwan Vandenberg said. "These incredible numbers are building momentum for not only this movie, but for the upcoming slate of DC Super Hero films."

While the film's debut this past weekend made it the biggest superhero movie opening ever for Warner Bros., Dawn of Justice also managed to have the steepest Friday-Sunday box office decline for a superhero film.
