The Jetsons to Become a Live-Action TV Series

Show is reportedly set in 2118.

Warner Bros. is looking to bring back the classic cartoon The Jetsons as a live-action TV series, with Back to the Future writer/director Robert Zemeckis on board as an executive producer.

According to TV Line, the new series will take George, Jane, Judy, and Elroy Jetson — plus their dog Astro — 100 years into the future and be set in 2118. The original animated series, which took place in 2062, was also set 100 years ahead of its 1962 debut date.

Zemeckis will reportedly produce the series alongside Family Guy executive producer Gary Janetti and Cast Away producer Jack Rapke.

In addition to the rumored live-action series, an animated Jetsons movie is currently in the works with Sausage Party director Conrad Vernon at the helm. The Jetsons were most recently featured in a direct-to-video WWE crossover film, titled The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!, which was released earlier this year.
