Call it the convergence or a cosmic alignment, but this winter IGN and Microsoft’s Xbox One X are teaming up to bring your video and gaming experiences to a whole new level. Read on to learn about the big video enhancements coming to IGN, as well as how the Xbox One X is designed to change video games forever.

4K Videos and Offline Video Downloads

The Xbox One X boasts a big stats upgrade, with a 6-teraflop GPU and 12GB of GDDR5 graphic memory hidden away in Microsoft's smallest console ever. This technical jump in hardware enables true 4K gaming, with smoother animations and more realistic details possible in each frame. It also adds features to your existing games' performance, like better textures and faster load times.

Speaking of upgrades, IGN is bringing you a better way to watch your favorite gameplay videos, trailers, and reviews on IGN.com. Thanks to Microsoft, we will be shooting more videos in true 4K resolution, including IGN Plays Live in 4K, throughout the end of the year. Don’t forget, you can already watch many videos at full 4K resolution, but with the support of Microsoft you’re now also able to download these videos for offline viewing.

You can now view and download 4K videos on IGN

In the past, full resolution video downloads were limited to our IGN Prime subscribers, but for a limited time until the end of the year, we're unlocking video downloads for all users. Anyone can download IGN videos — including videos with 4K resolution — for offline playback. Just look for the "Download Video" button on video pages, click, and select your resolution of choice. (Files are downloaded as H.264-encoded MP4s, playable on most any modern device.)

Create and Share Video Loops

The Xbox One X is about more than just graphics. Its 8-core custom AMD CPU (clocked at 2.3GHz) is designed with an enhanced AI, real world detail, and smoother framerates for your games.

Thanks to Microsoft, IGN is proud to announce Loops, a brand new feature of the IGN video player that lets users share looping moments from any on-demand video on IGN. Think of it as sharing GIFs from IGN videos, but without any complex software or uploading.

Easily create Loops (and add stickers!) on IGN

If you find a moment in a video you want to share, like a highlight from a new trailer or a memeable clip of IGN's presenters, you can quickly isolate that moment, give it a funny title, and broadcast the loop by sharing a link. You can also slap stickers on top of the loop to add an extra bit of flair to your share. Try it out below!

Let us know what you think of these new features in the comments. IGN is constantly working on new ways for our community to share and connect and your feedback can make these features even better. Until then, keep it locked on IGN.
