You see fog of war in a lot of games, usually as a gray draw distance but sometimes even as a physical obstruction to your view. As an example when you’re squaring off against enemy troops in a massive match in the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII, the fog of war can hide all sorts of deadly threats.

This is where the HipShotDot comes in. An aim-assist device unlike any other, the HipShotDot replaces any game’s standard crosshairs with a high-lumen visual reference point. With a red dot centered on your monitor or TV, it aims to cut through the clutter of an onscreen battle — because much like the real fog of war, games increasingly feel like a bombardment of information.

An intense PVP match can be a great showcase for rich graphics, particle effects, and UI prompts. But this leaves little room left for your crosshair. And while using a scope can keep your focus on your reticle, it also makes you feel vulnerable, cutting you off from viewing critical information.

By increasing your visual reference, the HipShotDot helps keep the crosshair prominent on the screen, helping players maintain their attention on what’s most important: killing nazis. Since the reticle’s red light is on persistently, players maintain that visual reference without a scope animation or movement penalties. Whether you’re playing a challenging single player campaign or a competitive multiplayer match — that’s the sort of advantage that can determine victory or death.

The HipShotDot also works with any weapon, which means you can put a red dot on Lara’s bow from Tomb Raider just as easily as Genji’s shurikens in Overwatch. The HipShotDot is designed to only need a screen, an open USB port, and a game.

Here’s how HipShotDot work:

  • The HipShotDot consists of a high-lumen red LED powered over USB. It works with any popular console or PC since it’s a hardware-only solution. You can even plug it into your TV or monitor’s open USB ports! (If you are using the HipShotDot on your monitor, be sure to use a D-Series decal sight/screen protector.)
  • The HipShotDot comes attached to a suction cup. The suction cup attaches to your monitor or TV. It’s easy to put on when you want to start, and comes of quick and clean when you’re ready to stop.
  • To use, just launch your game of choice, plug the HipShotDot into an open HipShotDot, line it up over cross hairs or aiming reticle, and gently apply. It works on any game from CS:GO to Call of Duty: World War II.

What's included in the HipShotDot package

The HipShotDot is designed by Tim Murphy, a military veteran. Once a Navy Radar Tech, Murphy was looking for a competitive edge in Call of Duty and created this product to improve his aim. Now he’s sharing that competitive edge with the world.

The fog of war. Just the words conjure up black smudges on a mini-map and clouds on the periphery of your viewable distance. The best way to combat fog, however, is a light. The HipShotDot is your light against the darkness in any game. You can learn more about HipShotDot here.
