Here's What Every Amiibo Does in Super Mario Odyssey

All Amiibo (including Amiibo cards) are compatible with Super Mario Odyssey, and most award Mario bonus hearts and coins randomly.

To use an Amiibo for the random bonus, hold the right direction button anywhere in the game for a few seconds then touch the Amiibo of your choice. If Mario’s hearts are full, these free Amiibo hearts will not grant Mario bonus coins.

These Amiibo have special bonuses when scanned anywhere in the world with no time or use limit:

• Any Bowser Amiibo highlight purple regional coins on your screen, but not on your map.
• Any Peach Amiibo give Mario a Life-Up Heart.
• Any Mario Amiibo make Mario immune to damage for approximately 30 seconds. Mario will still do the damage animation when hit, but his heart meter won’t be affected.

Amiibo can also be used to hunt down Power Moons. After visiting Cascade Kingdom, Mario will meet Uncle amiibo. Uncle Amiibo appears in every kingdom and is always near the Odyssey and next to Hint Toad. 

Chat with Uncle amiibo toscan up to three Amiibo that will then take five minutes each to go search for Power Moon locations. Once the Amiibo find a Power Moon, the location is marked on your map.

The 5-minute wait time is carried across all kingdoms. If you move kingdoms while Amiibo are out, Uncle amiibo will mark the Power Moon locations on the kingdom map your in, not the kingdom where you started the search. 

Certain Amiibo scanned with Uncle amiibo grant Mario outfits. Nintendo has said all outfits awarded with Amiibo can also be found in-game without Amiibo. Below are all the special Amiibo that award Mario outfits.
