Team Rocket is a devious crime syndicate who first appeared in the Kanto region of Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue (Pokemon Green in Japan). They've stolen Pokemon, cut off poor Slowpoke's tails, and according to some Lavender Town residents, even killed Pokemon in their mission to dominate the world. Fortunately Red, the protagonist, defeats Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni, sending him into hiding, and the rest of the group into dormancy.

Though Jesse, James, and Meowth have kept Team Rocket's existence on the top of our minds in the anime, the organization as a whole entirely fizzled out three years later in the Johto region of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver when their attempts to contact Giovanni were thwarted. Without the big boss's guidance, it seemed Team Rocket couldn't hold itself together.

With Team Rocket back on the horizon in Alola, could it mean Giovanni revived them? Will his estranged son, Silver, be by his side, or appear to make a stand against him? Hopefully, we'll find out more in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon when they are released on the Nintendo 3DS on November 17
