Donald Glover Reveals He Wasn't Too Busy for Canceled Deadpool Series

"for the record: i wasnt too busy to work on deadpool."

Donald Glover has responded to rumors he was too busy to work on the defunct Deadpool TV series.

Glover revealed on Twitter that his supposed busy schedule isn't too blame for the show's demise, which FX also cited "creative differences" as a reason for the project's end.

"For the record: i wasnt too busy to work on deadpool," Glover tweeted, before posting the script pages, which you can read in the gallery below:

Glover, who was set to serve as showrunner and writer on the series along with Stephen Glover (Atlanta), also shared a 15-page script titled "Finale," seemingly implying this would have been the show's final script. The 15 pages are notably filled with references to events that have occurred in recent days, though.

If anything, the script in parts reads much like a response to the series' cancellation, and it is unclear whether Glover wrote the script following the show's end or if he culled together parts of previously written work with more recent references and commentary.

(At one point, the script notes that Deadpool must "sadly" clarify that he's speaking to people reading, not watching, these events, implying Glover knew at the time of that writing that the show was over.)

The episode sees Deadpool traveling to Africa to try to save the last male white rhino, Sudan. The Merc with a Mouth even has a conversation with Sudan about why the show got canceled after just one season.

It's uncertain for now if Marvel will still move forward on the project with new writers and/or a new network attached. However, fans will still get to see Deadpool in live action when Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18. Check out this new poster for the Deadpool sequel.
