Poll Results: How Would You Rank the Star Wars Movies?

Ewok the vote.

With moviegoers vocally divided over The Last Jedi (and, frankly, every Star Wars movie except the universally beloved Caravan of Courage: The Ewok Adventure), we decided to put the same question to you that we've all been asking ourselves: How would you rank the core, canon, non-cartoon Star Wars movies? We also asked a few other questions, while we had your attention. Here's how you answered:

swrank

When we asked you to rank your Star Wars movies from best to worst, the original trilogy came out on top, with the new movies squarely in the middle, and the prequels coming in last. While Rogue One is ranked above Episodes VII: The Force Awakens and VIII: The Last Jedi, these movies are all really in a statistical dead heat. Interestingly, so are the maligned Episodes I and II -- nearly tied for last. At least we can all agree that this is the worst order in which to watch the movies.

favsw

When we asked you about your favorite Star Wars movies (you can only pick one!) we saw a similar order emerge with a significant twist: Slightly more people chose Episode III: Revenge of the Sith as their favorite Star Wars movie than Episode IV: A New Hope -- the movie that started it all. But really, that's dividing up the crumbs left over from half of all responders choosing The Empire Strikes Back as their favorite Star Wars movie.

worst

But what's the worst Star Wars movie? It was a hard choice between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode I: The Phantom Menace. But here's where we can best see the blowback from Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. 13% for responders said it was the worst Star Wars movie ever made. Now, over half as many people said the same movie was their favorite Star Wars movie in the poll above, so strong feelings abound. Also: 131 people really don't like that brother/sister kiss. Fair.

most

Finally, when we asked what movies you've seen the most times, one thing became clear: You've seen Episode IV: A New Hope too many times and are experiencing trash compactor scene fatigue. Luke does get a little shrill in that scene, we get it.

Finally, here's how IGN's staff ranked the Star Wars movies:

It's almost the same ranking you chose, with some additional love for The Force Awakens. To each his or her own, we say!

We'd like to hear your rankings, cartoons and Ewoks included, below. It's your list, we can't tell you what to do (we don't want to sound like Luke shrieking at the droids from the compactor, so rude).
