Life is Strange: Before the Storm Complete Walkthrough

Episode 3 of Life is Strange: Before the Storm takes us back to the Amber house following the events of the dinner in episode 2.

James Amber decides to tell Rachel everything about Sera, the woman they saw at the overlook.

The story plays out in a sequence of memories that both Rachel and Chloe examine through a viewfinder. Use your controller or mouse to hover over and initiate each memory. Watching each memory will unlock another one that continues the story. Revisiting memories will prompt James, Rachel or Chloe to make small remarks about them.

After the memory sequence, Rachel finds out that Sera is at Arcadia Bay because she wants to meet her. James tells her that meeting Sera isn’t a good idea. Rachel leaves to go lie down in her room.

Once you can move Chloe around, you can speak to Amber’s parents about what just happened. Speak to Rose and ask her how you can help. She’ll ask you to retrieve a broom from the breezeway. Take the broom and then check the breezeway again for a shirt. Take it and Chloe will ask Rose if she can have it. Later, you’ll have it as a clothing option.

From here, head upstairs to Rachel’s Room.

Rachel will be laying down on her bed visibly upset and Chloe will want to do something to cheer her up. Walk over to Rachel’s dresser and turn on the purple night light near her bed. Chloe will say that the light is not bright enough. You’ll have to find another source of light.

Feel free to explore all the cool items in Rachel’s room. There are two graffiti locations here: one is the planner on Rachel’s desk and the other is the US map hanging on the wall by her bed.

You can find what Chloe’s looking for in the emergency kit next to Rachel’s desk. Open it and inside will be a flashlight. Take it and then bring it over to the night light. Select the Flashlight option that comes up and Chloe will put the purple dome on the flashlight.

Once you are done exploring Rachel’s room, you can get her attention by showing her the stars. Rachel will confide in you and there are a few dialogue options here but they don’t impact the outcome of the story. Chloe will spend the night at Rachel’s and have another dream about her father.

In this dream sequence, Chloe will be acting out a scene with her father. You’ll have to play along with him and the audience will laugh at your responses. This will continue until the dream ends and the next scene at the Price house starts.

The next day, Chloe returns home to begin tracking down Sera. She calls Frank and they agree to meet at the Junkyard later. She’ll want to take a shower before heading there.

There are some new items to explore in her room. Feel free to look through everything. You can find a graffiti location near her desk which is the class picture on the shelf next to it. After looking at it, look at it again and the graffiti option will come up.

Walk over to the blue hutch near her bedroom door. There’s a plant there that is wilting. This is a minor choice. You can ignore the plant or choose to water it.

Leave Chloe’s room and head for the bathroom. Chloe will begin to look for her towel. Looking through everything in the bathroom will reveal that David has definitely moved in since his things can be found everywhere. Chloe’s pirate towel is in the Tub at the bottom of the shelf near the toilet. She’ll also find some blue hair dye. Walk over to the shower and select Take Shower.

After the shower, she will put some of the blue hair dye in her hair and grab a box of her father’s clothes from her mom’s room. You’ll be able to pick what Chloe wears. Rachel’s old shirt is among the choices.

Your next objective is to grab the toolbox in the garage so Chloe can begin to fix the truck in the junkyard while waiting for Frank. Before heading downstairs, stop by Joyce’s bedroom. The sports car calendar near the bedroom door is a graffiti option. From here, you can explore the upstairs a bit more or head downstairs.

On your way to the garage, you’ll be stopped by Joyce and David. David will apologize to Chloe for asking her to empty out her pockets the other day. He’ll tell you a story of his friend Phil Becker and then offer you a picture of them together. This is a minor choice where you can take the picture or reject it.

After the conversation, Chloe will head to the garage to grab the tools and then head to the junkyard.

At the junkyard, fixing up the truck will turn into a mini game. There are various parts to fix and you will have to find the appropriate tool to fix them. Feel free to turn on the bright yellow radio on the right.

Check the fuel filter and Chloe will remove it. Click on it again and she will blow into it making a splatter on the hood. Hover over the splatter and a graffiti option will come up. Select the part that says check in front of you and use the wrench to tighten it.

Next, use the screwdriver to clean off the distributor cap and reattach the rubber piping that comes loose from cleaning it. Check the radiator cap and Chloe will choose not to do anything to it. The same goes for the duct taped piece towards the right. Use the pliers to tighten the battery post.

A cutscene will take place where Chloe replaces a spark plug and finally gets the truck to start. Rachel will meet up with her at the hideout. While on the way to check out the truck, you’ll bump into Frank. Damon will show up shortly after. If you still have the money that Chloe stole from Drew, a minor choice will come up that allows you to give it to Damon or keep it. If you don’t have the money, you can respond however you wish.

A sequence of events will take place that results with Rachel being stabbed and Chloe will take her to the hospital.

At the hospital, James will ask about what happened to her Rachel. After speaking with him, Steph will come say hi and invite you to visit the North’s which are conveniently down the hall from Rachel’s hospital room. Chloe will want to get up and walk around. Feel free to explore the hospital before heading down the hallway where the rooms are.

There are a few graffiti locations in the waiting area. The first is near the exit on the left. It’s a bright yellow poster that says Wash Your Hands. The next is the vending machine. You will have to slam the vending machine 3 times before the option comes up.

On the way to the hospital rooms to the left, there is a donation box situated between some waiting room chairs. If you have Drew’s money, a minor choice comes up where you can choose to donate it.

You can talk to Anthony North on your way to Rachel’s room. A few minor choices come up here where you can choose to pay a visit to the Norths. There is a graffiti option in their room that you can miss out on if you decide not to stop by.

On your way to Rachel’s room, you can talk to Rose. At the end of the hall, there’s a door that slightly ajar where you can overhear a conversation between a doctor and Mr. Prescott as they talk about the condition of his son. The door will eventually slam shut and you can head into Rachel’s hospital room.

In Rachel’s room, she will be talking to her father and will send him out to talk to you. She’ll tell you that she still wishes to meet with Sera. She’ll give you to code to James’ office and ask you to find Sera’s contact information.

On your way out, you’ll bump into Eliot. Eliot will show concern and pry with lots of questions. Eventually, Chloe will get out of the uncomfortable conversation and leave for the Amber’s house.

At the office, there will be plenty to examine. The first thing you should do is examine the Best Dad trophy on Mr. Amber’s bookcase. Inside is a key that will unlock one of his desk drawers. At his desk, open the left drawer and look at the Sherry wine inside. A graffiti option will pop up.

Use the computer to read an email from Sera. Use the key to open the right desk drawer. Inside is a phone that is a direct line to Damon along with some revealing letters from Sera that were never given to Rachel.

Chloe will text Damon but he won’t tell you anything until you take care of some evidence. On the cork board is a Incident Report that will reveal the evidence Damon is talking about is a glove. Take a picture of the glove and send it to Damon. Then he will ask you to destroy it. Use the waste basket and burn the glove. Chloe will send Damon a picture.

Next, Damon will want to know which one of his guys is a snitch. This is a minor choice. On the cork board, you can find pictures of all of his guys. Throughout Mr. Amber’s office are their reports. Examining their reports will reveal Thunder (the cool bouncer that let you into the show in the first episode) is the snitch although you can choose to accuse whoever you want (including the guy who punched Chloe in the first episode).

After that, Damon will want to see some money. Examine some sawdust on the bookcase to the right/behind James’ desk. This will lead to a secret compartment where he’s hiding Damon’s money. Chloe will take a picture of it and send it to Damon. He’ll send you back a picture of Sera, revealing that he’s at the mill.

Before Chloe can leave, Eliot will show up. A series of events will pan out but eventually Chloe will be able to escape the situation and head for the mill.

On the way to the mill, Chloe’s distracted driving will result in her veering off the road to avoid being hit by a truck. She’ll have another one on one with her father. From here, she’ll continue to the old mill.

At the mill, Chloe will start looking for Sera. Turn right and move the sheet of metal. This will reveal some graffiti from Damon. Keep walking towards the back on the mill and grab the knife stuck in the beam on the way there. You can use this to destroy the graffiti. Feel free to look around more before heading to the back.

You’ll find Sera and Damon. The truth about James, Sera, and Damon will be revealed. Chloe will try to talk to Damon. Frank will show up before Damon knocks Chloe unconscious. When Chloe wakes up, Sera will be there and tell Chloe what happened. Chloe will talk to Sera to convince her to meet Rachel. A minor choice will come up if you have Rachel’s bracelet, you can give it to Sera at this point.

Chloe will return to the hospital.

Back at the hospital, Rachel will ask her parents to leave the room to speak with Chloe alone again. A major choice will come up where you can choose to tell Rachel everything or protect her from the truth.
