Friday the 13th Dev Explains DLC, Single-Player Plans

Maps, modes and cosmetic changes.

Developers of Friday the 13th: The Game, Gun Media and IllFonic have made their upcoming DLC plans public and have given some insight as to future single-player possibilities.

On the game's official forums a large graphical roadmap reveals the current path of DLC and what's to come. While there are no set dates at this time, we can look forward to seeing new maps, modes and a lot of cosmetic changes - including new emotes, Jason types, and councilors. That reflects what the developer's teased back in August.

Here's the roadmap in full:

There's also an update as to progress on fixing bugs and rolling out content onto the Xbox servers, with the developers explaining that Microsoft's strict processes make it the slowest platform when it comes to delivering updates.

The future of single-player was also discussed, which has been delayed from its Summer release due to working on fixes on the core game. Now that stability issues have been addressed, the developers are assigning resources back to working on this feature, including hiring additional staff.

It seems the game's single-player mode will be made up of "a number of different experiences that can be released independent of one another" - the roadmap indicates these will be challenge-type modes, rather than a straight campaign.

Friday the 13th: The game has sold over 1.8 million copies and is due to see a physical release this October. This success is in part due to developer's backing up their promise from earlier this year stating that they hadn't abandoned the game despite fan fears.
