Nintendo Confirms Breath of the Wild's Second DLC Will Launch in 2017

The Champions' Ballad will not necessarily be released alongside Champion Amiibo.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's second DLC pack, The Champions' Ballad, is still coming in 2017, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed.

In an interview with Kotaku, Fils-Aime confirmed that the game's second, story-focused DLC will launch before the end of 2017, but did not divulge a specific release date. When asked if The Champions' Ballad's release date would coincide with the upcoming November 10 release of the Breath of the Wild Champions Amiibo, Fils-Aime replied, "We will shortly be announcing the date for that content, so I would not lock and load on November 10th." Fils-Aime also made comments about Miiverse shutting down and Gamecube Controller support on Switch. Read the full interview here.

As we previously reported, The Champions' Ballad was first announced as part of Breath of Wild's season pass. The story will focus on Zelda, but Link will still be the main character in the DLC. Here's what we thought of the original DLC pack:
