In preparation for the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere of Stranger Things, we put together a spoiler-free list previewing the 5 most important things about the series you're going to want to know before its release on October 27, on Netflix.
There is a lot of world-building in this upcoming season, and it's easy to get lost among the influx of new characters and plotlines. Read below to discover which of those new stories and characters are crucial to unlocking the mysteries surrounding Season 2. You'll also want to check out all of our Season 2 reviews on October 27.
It’s never easy introducing new characters into a cast that is already brimming with talent, but Max (Sadie Sink) and her brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) are a welcomed addition. Keep an eye on Max, as she does her best to fit in with Dustin, Mike, Will, and Lucas. The boys are a tough group to please, but they may have met their match with her.
If you’ve seen any of the posters or trailers for Season 2, then you probably saw that large tentacled shadowy creature lurking in the distance. It’s safe to say that we’re not quite done with the Upside Down. The new threats are intensified compared to last season and will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
It’s no secret that the talented Millie Bobby Brown will be returning in her starring role as Eleven, but what we really want to know is, what happened to her after the Season 1 finale? She just disappeared. You can rest easy because you’ll get those answers and more, as the Duffer Brothers continue to add new and exciting stories for our favorite psychokinetic heroine. Her character is fleshed-out in ways you won’t see coming.
For most of the last season, WIll Byers was stuck in the Upside Down with not a lot to do, other than lay around and look dead. Thankfully, Noah Schnapp is given some great material to work with, and it’s nice to see him back with his friends. You’ll slowly begin to grasp just how talented Schnapp is.
A cry rang out at the end of Season 1. It was a cry for Justice. More specifically, a plea for Barb Holland and her family to get some closure. With all of the new and interesting stories going on in Season 2, the Barb story is less important, but the writers did promise us justice, so you’ll just have to watch and decide for yourself if you think it was worth the time.
David Griffin still watches DuckTales in his pajamas with a cereal bowl in hand. He's also the TV Editor for IGN. Say hi on Twitter.
