Spider-Man: Homecomingdebuted at the top of the box office with an estimated $117 million domestically, making it the biggest MCU superhero debut ever. But how does that opening stack up to the last five Spider-Man films?

Homecoming's debut, adjusted for inflation, actually becomes the third-highest of any Spider-Man film — Sami Raimi's original 2002 film overtakes Jon Watts' new take on the webslinger, while Spider-Man 3 remains in the top spot both adjusted and unadjusted. When adjusted, every Raimi-era Spider-Man film's debut is above $100 million, while both Marc Webb amazing Spider-Man films become the two-lowest earning debuts.
Homecoming is also the Spider-Man film to open in the largest number of theaters for its debut, just edging out The Amazing Spider-Man 2 by 24 theaters.
Worldwide, the Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man film still has a ways to go in reaching the total box office results of any of the other Spider-Man movies, but the movie has also yet to open in several markets, including France, Germany, Spain, Japan, and China.
