Warframe is getting a substantial open-world expansion later this year.
According to developer Digital Extremes' announcement on PlayStation Blog, the expansion is titled Plains of Eidolon and will drop players into a large open world called Landscapes, which you can explore at your own pace. Check out the teaser trailer for the new content below:
Players will no longer just be completing a series of procedurally-generated missions, as you can now explore environments with a day/night cycle, including the wide-open Eidolon Plains and the central town Cetus, which resembles a tribal open market where players can get quests.
You'll be able to interact with up to 49 other players within Cetus. and take on missions outside of the town with online squads of up to four players. Players will encounter vicious enemies in the Plain, such as the hulking Spectral Sentient, and can call in an Archwing for fast travel and combat.
