Nintendo has created some of the most revolutionary gaming hardware in the history of video games, as well as some of the strangest commercial failures. But regardless of its individual successes, Nintendo's history of experimenting with new and risky hardware ideas is apparent from the very beginning.
In this gallery, we go back all the way to 1977, when Nintendo released its first home video game console called the Color TV-Game. From there, we'll go through every major Nintendo hardware release, including its long list of home systems and handhelds, all the way up to the Nintendo Switch.
