Yann Demange is reportedly MGM and Eon Productions' top choice to direct James Bond 25.
According to Variety, Demange, best known for helming the 2014 drama '71, is the frontrunner, though other directors are also being considered.
In addition to Demange, Deadline reports Denis Villenueve (Arrival, Prisoners) and David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water) are also in the running. All three directors have allegedly had meetings about helming Bond 25.
Demange recently wrapped production on the Matthew McConaughey-led drama White Boy Rick. Meanwhile, Villenueve, who directed the upcoming Blade Runner 2049, is set to helm the Dune reboot, which could pose a scheduling conflict if he was to direct Bond 25, which will be released on November 8, 2019.
While official casting details are still forthcoming, Daniel Craig's return is reportedly a "done deal."
MGM and Eon are still searching for a new distributor now that it's four-film contract with Sony Pictures' is over. Back in April, it was reported that five studios were vying for the distribution rights, and according to Variety, Warner Bros. is currently the studio closest to securing James Bond 25.
