The Last Jedi: Rey and Luke Feature on Empire's September Covers

So. Shiny.

For excited fans of the Star Wars franchise, The Last Jedi's December release date may seem like an age away. While we can only wait for the full movie, a couple of magazine covers are doing their best to fill the gap.

The two covers are both from Empire's October issue and have been shared by Empire Online.

Empire's subscriber-only October cover.

The first, available to subscribers only, features a shot of Rey's hand placing Luke's old lightsaber back into his robotic one. The standard cover features the two Jedi standing together, lightsaber active in Rey's hand, although in keeping with recent publicity shots, Luke looks significantly dark and moody. Both covers are holographic, and very nifty.

Empire's standard October cover.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled to release worldwide Friday, December 15.

Matt Davidson is a freelance writer for IGN and strongly believes that everything should be holographic by law. Follow him on Twitter.
