The choppy framerates are finally being fixed.
Developer Ghost Town Games has released the first of two planned patches for Overcooked: Special Edition on Nintendo Switch.
As detailed in the developer's post, the first patch is now live and addresses various different issues, including the framerate and rumble problems that many players have run into.
IGN encountered these same issues in our review of the Switch port, saying these problems keep the port "from matching the best versions available."
The full Patch 1 notes are as follow:
- General improvements to framerate across the entire game
- Improvements to controller input
- HD Rumble no longer activates for all players when Player 1 carries out an action
- A crash triggered after lowering the vibration setting is fixed
- An exploit for chopping in the single-player mode has been removed
- An error in which worktop highlights was missing under certain circumstances is fixed
- A bug causing the timer to cut off when switching between handheld and TV mode has been fixed
Ghost Town Games promises it's currently hard at working on the second patch, which will introduce even more improvements.
