The latest entry in the Triple-X franchise is coming home May 16, and just like any action movie Blu-ray release worth its salt, there's more than one way to bring xXx: Return of Xander Cage home. We've put together a list of the available options for you to peruse and choose which one's best for you ahead of release.
The Blu-ray release of xXx: Return of Xander Cage comes in a combo pack, and includes the DVD and a digital copy so you can watch it on basically any modern, internet-connected device. On top of three choices of media, you also get bonus features. Included among the bonuses are behind the scenes looks at the franchise, the cast, and the location, as well as the stunt work of Xander's return and a gag reel. Pretty great for a standard Blu-ray release.
If you've ascended to the next level of television technology, this is the version for you. Not only does it include the bonus features of the Blu-ray combo pack, it also has a 4K disc, the high-def Blu-ray and a digital copy to give to your broke friend. The 4K version of the movie also has HDR for supported TV sets and players, so the action looks even cooler.
If you prefer to have the action a little more in-your-face, you can snag the 3D Blu-ray combo pack. There's a regular Blu-ray included, along with the digital HD download we've all come to know and love.
Best Buy has really been stepping up its game with steelbook exclusives, and the trend continues with xXx: Return of Xander Cage. If you're a steelbook collector, the only way to get your hands on it is through Best Buy. Aside from the awesome packaging, the steelbook includes the Blu-ray, DVD, and of course, digital HD versions of the movie.
Target is another retailer looking to get your business by offering cool exclusives, and xXx: Return of Xander Cage is no exception. The Blu-ray combo pack includes the requisite Blu-ray, DVD, and digital copies of the film, but there's an additional 30-minutes of behind-the-scenes bonus features you won't find on other versions.
Finally, Walmart has its own exclusive version of the xXx: Return of Xander Cage Blu-ray. In addition to the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital version included in the box, buying the Blu-ray online through the Walmart website lets you watch the movie instantly through VUDU while you wait for your physical copy to arrive. It's perfect for the impatient person who wants the physical media but hate waiting to watch it.
The Digital HD version of xXx: Return of Xander Cage comes out May 2, so you can watch the movie more than two weeks before it arrives on Blu-ray. You trade the satisfaction of owning something you can hold in your hands, but if you absolutely can't wait, there are a ton of ways to watch the movie digitally.
