The hilarious Lego Batman Movie is available digitally beginning May 19. For those of you who don't mind waiting for a physical release, we've put together a comprehensive list of the different versions coming to Blu-ray. The physical version doesn't hit until June 13, but you can pre-order your copy right now from most retailers, and while you are at it check out an exclusive clip from the home release below.
Here are your choices for getting your Batman-on.
The Lego Batman Movie Blu-ray combo pack is no slouch when it comes to features. You get the Blu-ray, a DVD, and Ultraviolet digital version of the movie, and the Blu-ray includes 4 new animated shorts, deleted scenes, and more. The trailers are there, a look into the making of Lego Batman, a tour of the Batcave, and more. It's pretty robust.
If you crave those sweet Ks, the 4K Blu-ray combo pack has four times the Ks of the regular Blu-ray. But since it's a combo pack it has the regular Blu-ray, along with a digital version. The special features are all there, too, and the 4K Blu-ray has HDR support cooked right in. Yum!
It's another way to get all that Lego Batman goodness into your brain, with the option to do so three-dimensionally. The combo pack includes the same special features but with a 3D Blu-ray of the main feature, along with the regular Blu-ray and digital code.
Attention steelbook collectors: once again, Best Buy has secured the rights to your potential business! The steelbook includes the Blu-ray, DVD, and Ultraviolet digital release, so you can enjoy the Blu-ray and then give the DVD to a kid who won't know the difference between standard and high definition. Plus it all comes in a slick steelbook to add to your collection.
This exclusive from Target delivers the goods and then some. You get the Blu-ray and DVD, along with a download code, but you also get three collectible postcards and, best of all, a Lego Batgirl minifigure. There's a lot to unpack here, literally. If you're a minifigure collector, this is a no-brainer.
This is a tough call between which retail-specific version is cooler. Yes, the Batgirl minifigure in the Target exclusive is undeniably great, but the Walmart exclusive comes in a Lego Batman Movie lunchbox, and the lunchbox has a Batman cape so who could possibly decide? It's extremely tough. You could get both, if you've got that Bruce Wayne money to burn, but if you don't it all comes down to how much you value easily carrying lunch.
