DC Super Hero Girls Coming to Cartoon Network in 2018

DC heroes try to fight crime while also dealing with teenage life.

A DC Super Hero Girls animated series is coming to Cartoon Network in 2018, Warner Bros. Animation announced.

Based on the popular DC Super Hero Girls direct-to-video movies and digital webisodes, the series will follow DC heroes such as Diana/Wonder Woman, Barbara/Batgirl, and Kara/Supergirl as they try to deal with being teenagers and navigating school while also fighting crime in Metropolis.

Other characters that'll be featured on the show are Harley Quinn, Zatanna, Bumblebee, Katana, and Green Lantern Jessica Cruz, among others. The series will sport fresh character designs from Emmy-winning producer Lauren Faust (Super Best Friends Forever), with Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) executive producing.

Teen Titans Go! and Justice League Action's Sam Register will serve as executive producer, while Lauren Faust (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) will serve as character designer and producer.

DC, Warner Bros., and Mattel first unveiled DC Super Hero Girls in 2015. It's aimed at girls between the ages of 6-12, and consists of toys, books, clothing, animation, digital content, and graphic novels.

In other DC animation news, Young Justice is set to return in 2018 while Justice League Action premiered in late 2016.
