We know little about what stories will make up Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of the fourth Avengers movie in 2019, but we do know a Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel will be the movie to kick it off.
While doing press for Homecoming, Feige confirmed that Peter Parker will be the "person to hold your hand and lead you into the next incarnation of the MCU, in a grounded, realistic manner." When we had a chance to speak to Feige at San Diego Comic-Con, we asked him why Spidey was the best choice to kick off the new phase post-Infinity War. Watch the interview below:
"After this 22 movie saga after untitled Avengers in May '19, it does seem like you want to get back to ground level, reassess, and who better to do that with than Peter Parker," explained Feige of his reasoning.
We also asked him how long it will take to find out what Aunt May thinks of Peter being Spider-Man, be it in Avengers: Infinity War or all the way until that Homecoming sequel. "I think it might be a few years," Feige teased.
In addition to our excitement for Phase 4, we also asked Feige all of our pressing questions about the Captain Marvel announcements made at Comic-Con. Watch below for his answers!
