Thor 3 Footage Showed Off Goldblum's Grandmaster

Valkyrie, Korg and Hulk also seen.

Marvel Studios presented attendees at Saturday's San Diego Comic-Con with never-before-seen footage from Thor: Ragnarok.

The footage showcased the zany nature and humor of the film. The sequence opens with a captured Thor, still with his long hair, waking up confined to a moving seat. A robotic female voice tells him, “You are home. There’s no going back. No one leaves this place but what is this place?”

The song "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory plays as Thor remains locked into a chair bringing him through space and teaching him about Sakaar. The tutorial instructs him about the Grandmaster, described as “the first lost and the first found.” Thor watches hologram footage of fights and he’s told he is now property of the Grandmaster. He then meets the Grandmaster, letting out a high-pitched scream.

Valkyrie and Rachel House’s character Topaz flank the Grandmaster in a large, ornate palace room on Sakaar. Some jazzy music plays. Valkyrie and Topaz clearly hate each other, with the latter likely jealous of the favor Grandmaster is showing Valkyrie, depicted here as the bounty hunter who caught Thor.

They push the Grandmaster closer to Thor so he can get a good look at his new prize. Thor tries to struggle free, says he’s not for sale. Valkyrie electrocutes Thor into submission.

Thor is then thrown into a corridor where he meets Korg (a motion-capture character played by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi). “I'm Korg. I’m kinnda like the leader in here. I’m made of rocks but don’t let that iintimidate you. I tried to start a revolution but didn’t hand out enough pamphlets.” He asks Thor if he wants to join in his new revolution. They’re stuck in a weird circular hallway. Korg informs Thor that everyone who fights the Grandmaster’s champion perishes. (Thor still has long hair in this scene by the way.)

Then we see Thor, with his hair now cut short, in the arena where he will participate in the mortal combat Grandmaster refers to as his Contest of Champions (a nod to the Marvel Comics' storyline and mobile game). The stadium is full of cheering attendees of various alien species.

Thor's mood changes when Grandmaster announces his champion, the Incredible -- smash! Hulk bursts into the arena to the joyous scream of Thor. An excited Thor tells Hulk how worried they all were about him. But Thor adds, “I’m not really hanging out with the Avengers anymore. Got very corporate.”

The footage then segued into the new trailer.
