Cuphead will remain exclusive to Xbox One and PC, developer Studio MDHR has confirmed.
"Yes, this Cuphead game is exclusive to Xbox and PC (with Steam and Win10 versions at launch and a GoG release likely shortly after)," the studio explained in a post on NeoGAF. "There will likely be a Mac version down the road and possibly a Linux version beyond that (unless we lose our houses or whatever)."
The developer also confirmed that they own the IP, so while the first Cuphead game won't appear on PlayStation 4, it's possible that any potential sequels could be multiplatform.
Cuphead will be released on September 29. For more on Studio MDHR's stunning side-scroller, which was unveiled back in 2014, check out our preview of Cuphead, as well as the game's upcoming deluxe vinyl soundtrack.
