Marvel has revealed the cover for August's Secret Empire #9, while also promising that this penultimate chapter will reveal "the secret of Steve Rogers." Check out the cover below:
The cover depicts a mystery figure fighting Baron Zemo while a wounded Black Panther recovers in the foreground. Marvel's press release also included the tease, "When Steve Rogers was revealed to be an agent of Hydra due to the manipulations of Red Skull, the Marvel Universe was rocked to its core. Now, it’s the moment fans have been waiting for – and you’re not going to want to miss this reveal!"
It's hard to tell the identity of this mystery hero from this redacted image. However, given that the series has been following the journey of a second, non-Hydra-tainted version of Steve Rogers for the past several issues, we wouldn't be surprised if Secret Empire #9 marks the moment where this Steve Rogers emerges to rally the Avengers against Hydra.
