Akiva Goldsman Heading to Paramount to Spearhead Rainbow 6

The filmmaker has a two-year first-look deal.

After working on the Transformers writers room for Paramount, filmmaker Akiva Goldsman is moving to the studio with the aim of creating more franchises, including cinematic adaptations of Rainbow 6 and comic series Avengelyne.

Deadline reports that the writer, director and producer has a two-year first-look deal with Paramount, which includes the aforementioned adaptations of  Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld's comic Avengelyne and the 1998 Tom Clancy bestseller Rainbow 6. The latter will be adapted by Josh Appelbaum & Andre Nemec (Beverly Hills Cop reboot) and focus on John Clark, an ex-Navy SEAL who heads up an international counter-terrorism operation.

Goldsman will also be tackling another writers room in order to figure out how to wrangle Ologies, a series of YA books that tackles fantasy in educational terms, into a film series on which he would produce.
