Today Marvel Comics has been revealing the comic book titles that will comprise the publisher’s Marvel Legacy initiative this fall, and IGN is excited to share six more with you: The Defenders, Jean Grey, X-Men Gold, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man, and brand new series, revealed here on IGN for the first time, Spirits of Vengeance.
Each title comes with a gif that hearkens back to a classic cover and then a Marvel Legacy title that pays homage to it. Check them out!
Spirits of Vengeance looks to be featuring Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), Blade, Daimon Hellstrom, and Satanna. Ken Lashley's cover is an update to Dave Cockrum's Giant-Size X-Men #1.
Here, Szymon Kudranski offers a new Defenders-flavored take on Jack Kirby's The Avengers #16.
This Mike Mayhew image updates John Cassaday's cover to Astonishing X-Men #2, swapping out Cyclops for Jean.
Another update of a classic Dave Cockrum X-men cover, this image from Ben Caldwell teases a major confrontation between the X-Men's Blue and Gold teams.
Artist Khary Randolph offers a new spin on Todd McFarlane's classic cover to Amazing Spider-Man #316.
Finally, Mark Bagley revisits John Romita, Sr.'s cover to Amazing Spider-Man King-Size Special #6, as Miles Morales has his first run-in with the Sinister Six.
Note that Marvel has stayed mum on the creative teams for each title, but we’ll update you with that information when it becomes available. For now, check out our round-up of all the Marvel Legacy covers revealed so far.
