Following recent leaks, Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be available as a standalone release for PS4 next week, with "other platforms to follow."
The game, which was previously only available with Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare special editions, can be purchased both physically and digitally on June 27 for $40 USD. Along with the full campaign, it will include its original 16 base maps.
In celebration of Modern Warfare Remastered's standalone launch, players will able to compete in a five-week seasonal event called Call of Duty "Days of Summer" on June 27. The community celebration will include XP events, in-game giveaways, a new summer-themed map for Modern Warfare Remastered, new gear, and more.
We awarded Modern Warfare Remastered an 8.5 last year, saying, "it's not outdated, it's classic, and the considerable effort that has gone into improving the models, textures, and effects have enhanced it enough that playing through the campaign again was rewarding."
