20th Century Fox's upcoming X-Men film Dark Phoenix will feature an appearance by Dazzler.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the light-manipulating mutant—who's a trained singer, dancer and actress—will appear in a minor role.
Jean Grey actress Sophie Turner confirmed the existence of Dazzler in the X-Men film universe last year, when she shared a photo of a deleted scene from X-Men: Apocalypse that shows her and Tye Sheridan's Scott Summers in a record store looking at Dazzler album.
Turner also made a 1989 reference alongside the photo, which resulted in speculation that Taylor Swift might play the character. According to EW's report, there's currently no plan to have Swift star as Dazzler in Dark Phoenix.
Casting notices for the film recently surfaced, hinting at the potential inclusion of Dazzler, Rogue and Hellfire Club.
Dark Phoenix will be directed by Simon Kinberg and released in theaters on November 2, 2018. James McAvoy will return as Professor X, Michael Fassbender will reprise his role as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence will return to play Mystique, and Nicholas Hoult will be back as Beast. Interstellar star Jessica Chastain is reportedly in talks to star as the film's antagonist, the Shi’ar empress Lilandra.
