WWE 2K18' MyCAREER mode has been detailed, revealing the heavy emphasis on story to come in this year's version.
As detailed on Take-Two's blog post, WWE 2K18’s career mode improves upon previous iterations by letting players choose between two different story paths: Company Man and Fan Favorite.
The Company Man path has you aid and side with the general managers, doing whatever it takes to help create and maintain the GMs' vision for the WWE. You'll ambush other WWE Superstars in the locker room and interrupt their interviews, and by doing so you'll gain access to Vince McMahon's office and a few useful upgrades.
The Fan Favorite path is the complete opposite, with players instead focusing on gaining the respect of WWE Superstars and Legends, and putting on five-star matches and exceptional promos. You will earn in-ring bonuses and eventually gain the ability to customize your very own WWE Championship or Universal Championship.
Both paths will lead to your WrestleMania moment. However, for the first time in the series your career mode won't there, allowing you to continue your journey as a WWE superstar.
Other new additions to the career mode are the inclusion of backstage free-roaming, letting you talk and befriend other WWE superstars, new and improved promos, and an update to MyCAREER invasion that allows other players roam backstage in your MyCAREER save.
WWE 2K18 will be released on October 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the last 47 playable wrestlers in the game, which includes JBL, Sting, and Shawn Michaels.
