New Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! Trailer, Ash's Pikachu Event Revealed

Before Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! hits theaters in November, The Pokemon Company International is releasing special event Pikachu weekly leading up to the film’s international debut.

One of six versions of Pikachu wearing Ash’s hat will be available for Pokemon Sun and Moon players weekly starting on September 19. Each player can only receive one of the six Pikachu. Codes for each Pikachu will be on Pokemon.com.

Here’s when each Pikachu will be available:

• September 19 - 25 Ash’s Original Cap Pikachu
• September 26 - October 2 Ash’s Hoenn Cap Pikachu
• October 3 - 9 Ash’s Sinnoh Cap Pikachu
• October 10 - 16 Ash’s Unova Cap Pikachu
• October 17 - 23 Ash’s Kalos Cap Pikachu
• October 24 - 30 Ash’s Alola Cap Pikachu

Additionally, attendees of the Pokemon the Move: I Choose You! dubbed screenings on November 5 and November 6 will get a Pokemon TCG card featuring Ash’s Pikachu and a QR code that unlocks an in-game Ash's Pikachu (wearing a different hat than the previous six) and an event for Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon that starts on November 17.

Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! retells Ash and Pikachu’s origin story and features the new mythical Pokemon, Marshadow. As a retelling, there are some differences such as exchanging Ash's original travel companions, Misty and Brock, for two new characters.

The newest Pokemon movie is the 20th Pokemon film and was originally released in Japan this past July along with a first run of the Ash's Pikachu event. Tickets for the dubbed screening of Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You are available now through Fathom Events.
