Xur has returned to the world of Destiny (although not in the place you might expect) with four pieces of exotic equipment.
For all classes, there's the Merciless fusion rifle - currently considered one of the best exotic weapons for the Leviathan Raid that started this week.
The three class-specific armour pieces all come from the choice of three exotics you get in the game's campaign. For Hunters there's the Raiden Flux chestpiece, Titans get the Doom Fang Pauldron Gauntlets, and Warlocks get the gaudy Wings of Sacred Dawn.
You can see them all below (remember that stats of each are affected by your light level), where you'll notice that Xur's accepted currency now seems to be Legendary Shards (gained for breaking down purple gear):
Perhaps more interesting than what Xur's got is where he is - in the last game, the Agent of the Nine would appear in different locations across the Tower social hub. For his first visit in Destiny 2, he's... up a tree on Nessus. To reflect that change, his location is now marked on the map.
If you haven't met Xur before, he's a recurring shopkeeper that appears every Friday for the duration of the weekend, and always sells a selection of endgame exotic equipment - if you play for any considerable length of time, you'll consider him a friend before too long.
Our Destiny review is still in progress, but right now we're feeling pretty good about it all.
