Absolver: How to Unlock the Stagger Combat Style

This page contains information on the Stagger combat style in Absolver.

The Stagger style is focused on confusing your opponent with your attacks. The style does little to improve vitality or strength, and instead focuses on the other stats. The defensive maneuvers of the stagger style are also attacks. Moving in a direction either dodges or charges and follows up with a light attack.

The defensive attacks of this style don't do much damage, and can leave you open if you roll the wrong way. The double attacks of this style are useful for stopping charging attacks, but the long winding punches and kicks can become easy to predict.

In order to learn the stagger style, the player must first defeat Jinn Mesca. Jinn Mesca can be found in the following locations:

  • On the bridge leading from the Tower of Adal altar to the courtyard on the way to the Oratian Quarter
  • On the path up to Tower of Adal from the Adalian Columbary
  • On the roof of a building next to the river at Central Harbor
  • Hunting Path under a tree

After you have defeated Jinn Mesca, make your way to Raslan Coliseum and go to the altar in the coliseum. Head up the stairs and you should now be able to open a door similar to the ones at the end of the tutorial and entrance to the Essence Mines.

Follow the path down from the door and you will meet Rakkio, the mentor of the Stagger school. You can join the school after tallking to him.

Joining the school grants access to using the style and a Stagger based bare-hands deck. You will get the ability to equip the style and deck in the Meditation menu. You can learn the style permanetly by using the defensive moves against opponents.
