A Dark Souls Bonfire is in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Dark Souls and Prey Easter eggs abound.

While playing Dishonored: Death of the Outsider for our review, I stumbled across a couple of cool Easter eggs, the more surprising of which was a Dark Souls-style bonfire.

It’s a subtle nod, but an undeniable one. The bonfire is one of the most recognizable things from Dark Souls, making it immediately recognizable here.

To see it in-game for yourself (and I’ll keep this spoiler free), the bonfire is located on the roof of the bank during the third mission. Looking forward at the front of the bank, it’s on the far right end of the roof.

I also found a reference to another Arkane game in the same level. One of the names on a safe deposit box in the bank is “Morgan Yu,” the protagonist from Prey.
