Netflix has renewed Skylanders Academy for a third season. Production on season three will begin this month, with a premiere expected in 2018.
Meanwhile, season two of Skylanders Academy will launch later this year with Felicia Day set to join the cast as Cynder, “a new cadet at the Academy with a mysterious past.”
Season two’s additional cast members include Susan Sarandon, Parker Posey, James Hetfield, Catherine O’Hara, Bobcat Goldthwait, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jonny Rees, Harland Williams, and Richard Horvitz.
Skylanders Academy premiered in fall 2016, and season one is currently available on Netflix. The first season stars Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, Jonathan Banks, Norm Macdonald, Daniel Wu, and Daniel Middleton, all of whom will return for season two.
Skylanders Academy is the first project from Activision Blizzard’s film studio, which was announced alongside a “robust cinematic universe” based on Call of Duty.
The latest Skylanders game was Skylanders Imaginators, which launched on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U last fall and will come to Nintendo Switch in March.
