Venom Production Officially Starts, First Set Photo Revealed

Production on Sony's upcoming Venom movie has officially begun.

The start of filming was announced in a post on the movie's official Twitter account, which simply states "Day 1. #Venom," alongside the first set photo, which you can check out below:

Venom is being directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer, and will star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. Back in May, it was announced production on the horror film would begin sometime this fall, ahead of its October 5, 2018 debut in theaters. In addition to Hardy, the film will reportedly star Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate.

In less than a year, Venom will serve as the first film to debut from Sony's own Marvel Universe, which will be followed by a Black Cat/Silver Sable film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. Producer Amy Pascal has confirmed Venom will be separate from the MCU.
