Marvel TV Boss on Postponing the Release of The Punisher

The series will premiere on November 17.

Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb has shed light on the decision to delay the release of its Netflix series The Punisher.

In an interview with Inverse, Loeb said the choice to postpone The Punisher was due to the recent tragic events in Las Vegas. "This was a decision that we made specifically because it was a week after a horrible, horrible incident," he explained.

Loeb then went on to emphasize that the circumstances surrounding The Punisher's delay have not resulted in the series being altered. "It hasn't changed the television series, the show is not predominantly about gun violence, and in fact it shows you the problems that occur in that world," he said.

According to Loeb, delaying The Punisher was a hard decision Marvel TV had to make with Netflix. "We made a very hard choice with Netflix, and our hearts still go out to the people of Las Vegas and the people around the world who still deal with that senseless violence," said Loeb.

Marvel's The Punisher will debut on Netflix on November 17. While you eagerly wait for the show's premiere, be sure to check out some photos and a poster that provide different looks at some of the main characters in the series.
