Warner Bros.' long-awaited Shazam! movie won't feature Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam.
DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed to Yahoo! Movies that while Johnson is still on board to star in Black Adam, he won't appear as the supervillain in Shazam.
"We haven’t announced any casting yet," Johns told the outlet. "But Dwayne isn’t going to be in this movie. He's still doing Black Adam, but he won't be in Shazam!"
Last year, Shazam! was divided into two films, with Johnson's Black Adam getting his own standalone DC film that's being developed alongside the Shazam! movie.
Speaking to IGN this week at San Diego Comic-Con, Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg confirmed reports that he's directing Shazam, which is said to begin filming early next year.
