Robert Kirkman's Thief of Thieves Video Game Announced

Play it at SDCC 2017.

Skybound Entertainment is developing a new video game based on Robert Kirkman's Thief of Thieves comic series, IGN can exclusively reveal.

A playable demo is coming to San Diego Comic-Con this year, and the full game releases on Steam in early 2018. Thief of Thieves the comic book series follows Conrad Paulson, in his secret double life as Redmond. The game follows Celia, protégé of Kirkman’s comic book protagonist Conrad Paulson. In the comic series, Celia is introduced via a flashback, but the game explored Celia's backstory and how she "became an accomplished thief of her own."

Skybound president Dan Murray said Rival Games "has created an excellent expansion" of the comic's story, something he says he "can’t wait to share" with fans. Murray said his team is "excited to broaden Robert Kirkman’s world" with characters both from the comic, and "fresh faces" too.

Robert Kirkman, who is an executive producer on AMC's The Walking Dead, created Thief of Thieves in 2012 with artist Shawn Martinbrough. This announcement is just a part of Skybound's continued push into the video game realm. At E3 2017, the company announced that multiple Walking Dead VR games are in development.

Currently, Thief of Thieves is only planned for PC. Those attending SDCC 2017 can visit booth #241 to try the game for themselves.
