Fear the Walking Dead will return for the second half of its third season on September 10th and at Comic-Con, during the FTWD panel hosted by Chris Hardwick, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman addressed the idea of actually crossing over the characters from the two shows or, in the very least, creating a more concrete connection somehow.
After joking that Kim Dickens' Madison might be the long lost sister of Rick, Daryl, or Carol (since Madison's from Alabama), and then a few more laughs over there possibly being a magical telephone that Daryl discovers in The Walking Dead: Season 8 that allows him to call Madison, Kirkman got more serious and stated that it would be something they'd like to do if they could figure it out.
"I think that it's something that we would love to try and work out, and we know the fans would love it," Kirkman said. "It's something that's very complicated because of that time gap, so we'll just have to see."
Hardwick then asked "So you're saying there's a chance?"
"Maybe," Kirkman answered.
