In anticipation of Ready Player One's release next year, the first image from Stephen Spielberg's film adaptation of Ernest Cline's novel has been revealed.
The first look photo, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, offers an early glimpse at Tye Sheridan as the treasure seeker Wade Watts. Pictured in his hideout, Watts is seen wearing the OASIS rig, which is comprised of a VR visor and pair of haptic gloves.

Upon close inspection, the image includes several hidden details, including a peek at Mark Rylance's James Halliday and several 80s references. You can find a detailed breakdown of these clues over on Entertainment Weekly.
Ready Player One opens in theaters on March 30, 2018. The film is set in a near-future dystopia where Watts finds refuge within a virtual game world, only to get caught up in a high-stakes treasure hunt. In addition to Sheridan and Rylance, the film also stars Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg and T.J. Miller.
