Lugia is the first Legendary Pokemon to be added to Pokemon Go.
Rachel Quirico, who was hosting the Pokemon Go Fest stream, shared the news, confirming that Lugia has been unlocked for those at the event in Chicago's Grant Park. "Everyone who has successfully checked in will receive Lugia in your account," she said. Meanwhile, those around the world who aren't at the event will be able to find Lugia in Raid Battles within the next 48 hours.
Additionally, Quirico announced that the next Legendary creature to be added to Pokemon Go will be Articuno.
As previously announced, Legendary Eggs will soon appear at Gyms for players to find, and if your team can take down a Legendary Raid Boss, you'll be able to catch your own Legendary Pokemon.
Unfortunately, Pokemon Go Fest hasn't proven to be the smoothest event for attendees thanks to server problems. As an apology, Niantic is providing all attendees full refunds and $100 worth of in-game credit.
