During the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con, a number of new details surrounding Thor: Ragnarok were revealed.
Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, addressed Thor's abrupt lack of hair and hammer, this time around.
“I thought, we gotta try something different," Hemsworth said. "If we’re gonna make a third Thor, we have to really push the envelope and experiment. So that’s what this film is.”
“[It's] something incredibly unique and different not only for the thor world but the Marvel universe,” Hemsworth said. "He gets his ass kicked in this film, mainly by [The Hulk]."
The attention then turned to Thor's half-brother Loki and actor Tom Hiddleston, who spoke to the state of things for his character.
“Well it’s been four years, and if you saw Thor: The Dark World you will know that Loki is on the throne of Asgard pretending to be Odin," Hiddleston said.
"So Thor comes home and things are a little different in Asgard. Loki has directed most of his energies into narcissistic self-glorification...but Ragnarok is coming and Loki’s allegiances have always been slightly unpredictable," Hiddleston said. "What his part in it is, you’ll just have to wait and see.”
Next up was Mark Ruffalo discussing this new version of The Hulk we'll see in Thor: Ragnarok.
"It’s a little different Hulk than we’ve seen," Ruffalo said. "Hulk refuses to turn back into Banner. He’s actually enjoying his time on Sakaar because he's a gladiator champion on the world of Sakaar, which means he kicks a lot of A."
"He’s enjoying his life for once and he’ll be damned if he’s going to go back to Banner,” Ruffalo said.
