Disney and Square Enix revealed Toy Story as the newest world coming to Kingdom Hearts III via new trailer.
The new trailer was previously teased via the Kingdom Hearts III Orchestra trailer last month. The footage showcased Sora, Donald, and Goofy fighting in Andy's room from Toy Story. The trio stood at the same size as Andy's other toys and met Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and more characters from the Pixar franchise.
The Orchestra trailer also hinted at ways in which Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue ties into Kingdom Hearts III.
TKTK joins the returning world of Hercules, albeit in a much different form than seen in previous Kingdom Hearts games, as well as the already announced new worlds for Tangled and Big Hero 6.
Back when Square first debuted Kingdom Hearts III at E3 2013, IGN spoke to Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura about the possibility of including worlds from Lucasfilm, Pixar, Marvel, and other Disney acquisitions.
More recently, Nomura spoke to the ongoing development process for both Kingdom Hearts III and the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
reviously, Square Enix has also debuted a few new screenshots from the game, including a Final Fantasy VII-esque shot near Yen Sid’s Tower.
In addition to releasing Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX and 2.5 ReMIX for PlayStation 4 earlier this year, Square Enix also launched Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 -- Final Chapter Prologue, a compilation that includes Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover, 0.2 Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage - and a remastered version of the Nintendo 3DS game Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance.
