As part of the D23 Expo, Disney and Marvel have revealed more details on Marvel's Spider-Man, the new animated series coming to Disney XD, as well as the third season of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy animated show.
Spider-Man will debut on Saturday, August 19 on XD with an hour-long premiere at 7 a.m. ET, as well as on the Disney XD app at 12:01 a.m. ET. The show's voice cast was announced during D23 Expo as well, including Robbie Daymond as Spider-Man, Max Mittleman as Harry Osborn, Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales), Melanie Minichino as Anya Corazon, Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy, Nancy Linari as Aunt May, Patton Oswalt as Uncle Ben, Scott Menville as Doc Ock, John DiMaggio as The Jackal, Alastair Duncan as Vulture. Marvel's CCO Joe Quesada, who is also on board as an executive producer will voice Joe the coffee shop owner.
Marvel's Spider-Man follows Peter Parker as he learns to grapple with his new powers while also attending Horizon High. Harry attends the competing school Osborn Academy, and Spider-Man will tackle familiar villains like Vulture, Lizard, Doctor Octopus, and Sandman.
The show's creative team was previously announced at New York Comic-Con 2016.
Additionally, Marvel and Disney revealed the third season oft Disney XD's animated Guardians of the Galaxy series will be called Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout, sharing the same name as the Guardians of the Galaxy Disneyland ride. As the team finds themselves both fame and fortune, they become framed by the Collector. The season will see them venture to new universes, act out a sting operation inside the Nova Corps, and "expose a Secret Invasion years in the making.
Additionally, LEGO and Marvel announced the 22-minute animated special LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Guardians of the Galaxy: The Thanos Threat, which sees Thanos, Ronan, Nebula and the Ravagers seeking out the Build Stone. The Guardians must protect it in the special, for which a platform and air time will be announced at a future date.
