The cast for New Warriors, Marvel's first live-action television comedy, has been unveiled and actress Milana Vayntrub will be playing beloved cult character Squirrel Girl.
As reported by Variety, Vayntrub joins a cast that also includes Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, Kate Comer as Debrii, Matthew McCoy as Microbe, Jeremy Tardy as Thrasher, and Calum Worthy as Speedball.
New Warriors focuses on six young people who are burgeoning superheroes, but with a decidedly more comedic voice than many comic book properties. The speculation around the breakout cult favourite Squirrel Girl role was fervent, but in the end Vayntrub emerged victorious. In addition to the dozens of AT&T commercials she's starred in, Vayntrub has popped up in shows such as Silicon Valley, where she plays Gilfoyle's Satanist girlfriend Tara, and This is Us.
The show got a straight-to-series order from Freeform, where it will get at least 10 episodes.
