Marvel Announces Digital-Only 'Immortal Iron Fists' Comic

For when one Iron Fist just isn't enough.

Marvel has announced a new partnership with Comixology to publish original digital comic books exclusively on the Comixology and Amazon Kindle platforms. As revealed at Marvel's "Next Big Thing" panel at SDCC today, the first fruit of that partnership will be the mini-series Immortal Iron Fists.

Immortal Iron Fists will be written by Kaare Andrews (Spider-Man: Reign) and drawn by Afu Chan (Power Man & Iron Fist). This six-issue series is a continuation of Andrews' work on Iron Fist: The Living Weapon, though it's also being billed as a fresh jumping-on point for new readers. Immortal Iron Fists will focus both on Pei, a young monk coming to terms with being the youngest Iron Fist in history, and Danny Rand, now charged with training the newest heir to the Iron Fist mantle.

Check out our exclusive preview of the first issue below:

“Immortal Iron Fists serves as a perfect starting point for those new readers who are just discovering the world of Marvel Comics,” said Chip Mosher, comiXology’s Head of Content & Senior Director of Communications, in Marvel's press release. “We’re loving working with Marvel on this line of exclusive content as part of our comiXology Originals program. Giving new and current fans the option to buy or read for free as part of our comiXology Unlimited subscription service is a huge win. We can’t wait to hear from the fans.”

Immortal Iron Fists will be free to read for subscribers of the Comixology Unlimited and Kindle Unlimited programs. Individual issues will also be available to purchase for $2.99. The first issue of Immortal Iron Fists is available now on both platforms, with new issues being published every two weeks.

Marvel also hinted that they'll be revealing more Comixology-exclusive series in the near future. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
