Hellboy Reboot May Find Home at Lionsgate

Advanced talks reportedly underway.

The upcoming Hellboy reboot, tentatively titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, may find its home at Lionsgate.

According to TheWrap, Lionsgate is in "advanced negotiations" to distribute the movie, which aims to begin filming this September.

Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen will star David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Mike Mignola's iconic comic book character, who was previously played by Ron Perlman in Guillemot del Toro's 2004 film and its sequel, Hellboy II: The Golden Army.

According to Harbour, the reboot will have "a darker tone" than the prior Hellboy movies. The actor also said he wants the film "to be more of a character piece and more about this dude's struggle."

Neil Marshall (The Descent) is on board to direct Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. For more on the film, check out the Rise of the Blood Queen's debut promo art, and then take a look at these nine things we want from the reboot.
